The pilot of a Cirrus SR22 GTS was attempting to land on an unlit private airstrip in Boxwood, Victoria, after last light. As a result of the collision with a tree, the pilot lost control and the aircraft continued for a short distance before impacting terrain inverted.
The sole pilot perished and the aircraft was destroyed.
