Cause
After having analysed the human, material and physical factors, we conclude that the human and physical factors were contributory to the occurrence of this accident.
The investigation has determined that, due to an error in the adjustment (mercury purge) of the altimeter, caused the aircraft to fly below the altitude indicated on the instrument and when it deviated from the route and entered a mountainous area in meteorological conditions not appropriate for air navigation under visual flight rules (VFR), it flew below the minimum altitude of the sector, impacting with the terrain.
