The aircraft was coned by searchlights and shot down by the night fighter crew of Oberleutnant Reinhold Knacke & Unteroffizier Kurt Bundrock of the 2./NJG 1, who were flying Bf 110 C-4 W.Nr. 3601 from Venlo airfield in the Netherlands.
