Narrative:During dive bombing practice at the Gianaclis No.5 bombing range, Egypt on 29th January 1945 Seafire NF429 was destroyed and its pilot, Sub Lt, K A Cain RNVR killed when it failed to pull out of its dive.
879 squadron was disembarked from the aircraft carrier 'HMS attacker' and stationed at at RNAS Dekheila,(HMS Grebe), Egypt from January to April 1945 for operational training, while the Carrier underwent a refit at Taranto Italy prior to its deployment to the Far East.
