The PS-28 aircraft, registration EC-NAP, began a VFR flight to Logroño Airport with a student pilot as the sole occupant of the aircraft.
When he was at entry point W near Logroño Airport, the student pilot noticed that there were low clouds and that visibility had decreased considerably, so he contacted an instructor who was in flight and who advised him to return to Burgos Airport.

The student pilot returned to Burgos. During the landing manoeuvre on runway 22, the aircraft hit the runway, the nose wheel collapsed and the aircraft slid on the underside of the engine cowling until it came to a stop 300 metres from the threshold and inside the runway.
The student pilot was uninjured and the aircraft sustained significant damage.
