Narrative:
On April 8, 2024, about 1615 mountain daylight time, a Cessna 195B, N2147C, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Portales, New Mexico. The pilot and two passengers received minor injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.

According to the pilot, he had landed at Portales Municipal Airport (PRZ), Portales, New Mexico, to refuel during a cross-country flight. After refueling, he proceeded to take off on runway 19. He reported that the takeoff roll was normal, and the airplane remained on the runway centerline. Just prior to rotation, the airplane veered to the right and exited the right side of the runway. Subsequently, the right main landing gear collapsed, and the right wing struck the ground.

Post accident examination of the airplane revealed that the fuselage and right wing were substantially damaged. According to the automated weather report, the wind was from 120° at 12 knots. The pilot reported that he had applied crosswind control inputs during the takeoff roll.
