Narrative:
Air Canada flight AC190, an Airbus A319-114, was en route to Toronto at about FL365 climbing to FL370 at 38 NM south of Penticton, BC, when the aircraft experienced a sudden upset. The aircraft oscillated in roll to a maximum of 37 degrees to the right and 56 degrees to the left and descended to FL 359. The crew declared an emergency and diverted the flight to Calgary at FL 310 where an uneventful landing was completed.
There was a serious injury to one person (broken collarbone) and minor injuries to 10 others.
