The pilot suffered serious injuries, but was able to communicate with rescue personnel dispatched from Air Search & Rescue (Trenton). He was removed from the crash site by helicopter, transferred to a CAF Hercules at Wawa, then transported to medical services in Sault Ste. Marie.
