Narrative:Luftwaffe ace Oberleutnant Hugo Frey was killed in a crash after his Focke-Wulf was hit by defensive fire from B-17 Flying Fortresses of the 45th Combat Bombardment Wing USAAF.
He was buried at the Esserveld cemetery in Groningen and was posthumously awarded the Ritterkreuz on 4 May 1944.

On this day, the USAAF raided industrial areas at Berlin, aviation industry (Daimler-Benz Flugmotorenwerk) at Genshagen, Ludwigsfelde (Brandenburg) and multiple Targets of Opportunity.
